Our Primary School serves children from Year 1 to Year 6, typically ages 6 to 12 years.
NOVA offers a hybrid model that combines the British National Curriculum (BNC) with influences from alternative education systems (Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia). Among these, Montessori principles stand out most clearly, guiding our emphasis on independence, hands-on learning and self-motivation.
We maintain small class sizes, typically ranging from 12 to 20 children, which allows for individual attention and strong teacher-student relationships.
Core subjects like Math, English and Science, are taught through integrated, thematic units. Children engage in real-life projects, hands-on experiments and multi-sensory activities that make learning meaningful.
We do not rely on traditional testing. However, homework is assigned to support learning, encourage responsibility and reinforce skills at home.
Our Primary program is English-medium, with Greek taught as a second language. Additional language enrichment may be offered depending on the year group and demand.
Yes. We implement technology in an age-appropriate and purposeful way. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and students attend computer classes in accordance with guidelines by the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth. Our focus is on building digital literacy, creativity and critical thinking.
Social-emotional development is embedded throughout the school experience. We cultivate emotional intelligence through daily interactions, respectful communication and collaborative learning.
Parents/Guardians receive reports twice a year, offering feedback on each child’s effort and progress based on Montessori principles. Regular parent-teacher meetings support a deeper understanding of each child’s overall development.
In addition, pupils take home a portfolio folder with classwork and homework from all subjects, giving parents clear insight into their learning.
In addition to core academics, we provide art, movement, practical life skills and outdoor experiences. These support creative expression, physical development and personal growth.
